I hate pocket Queens
Pocket Queens are a hand I hate more and more daily. The problem I see with them is this. They are very susceptable to Aces and Kings as these are the cards that many donks think are golden. Once in a while you get people playing Q-J or Q-T and you're in excellent shape. Other than that if you stick it in, odds are you are up against 3 kinds of hands. The good players who will have you crushed with AA KK or possibly racing you with AK, The absolute idiots who call you with 6-3 off (This actually has happened at a final table of a tournament), and the people who call with Ax or Kx. These are the sweaters. Here's an example that busted me in 3rd today in a 90 man SNG.

Dealt to Bender2006 [Qc Qh] (I've picked up Queens after losing about a 4k pot a hand before)
Bender2006 calls 800 (I'm limping as bris likes to raise a lot of pots. I want to get some action on this hand)
brisween raises to 3,200(As I predicted, I'm coming)
GRIEDE folds
Bender2006 raises to 26,100, and is all in(If you wanna play an underpair to Q's or on a total bluff It'll cost a very large portion of the stack)
brisween calls 22,900
Bender2006 shows [Qc Qh]
brisween shows [Ks Jc](Called half his stack off on K-J, Let's go over why this is a stupid play on brisween's part.
1. The pot odds are incorrect in this spot. In order for this call to be correct, bris needs to be getting about 2:1 on his money to call. I'm not sure the precise odds, but 2:1 would be about right. Lets take a look at the pot. Blinds were 1200, My call made the pot 2000 and the raise kicked it up to 5200. The raise all in makes the pot 28100. He has to call down 22900 to try and win 28100. He is getting about 1.25:1 on his money. Not close to the 2:1 you need.
2. Look at the history of this move. I used this checkraise all in no less than ten hands earlier. Here is the hand history.

Dealt to Bender2006 [Ks Kc]
Bender2006 raises to 2,800 ( The only difference here is I bet out)
brisween raises to 9,200(He reraises, I am only beat if he has AA. I do not believe him to have AA and if he does I was meant to go broke anyway)
GRIEDE folds
Bender2006 raises to 26,100, and is all in(I stick in all my stack)
brisween: oops
brisween has 15 seconds left to act
brisween: 44?
brisween folds
Uncalled bet of 16,900 returned to Bender2006
Bender2006 shows [Ks Kc] (a pair of Kings)(I show him when I come back over the top I've got a monster, I may want to protect a big hand later or run a crazy bluff, but I hope I earn respect through it)
Bender2006 wins the pot (19,200)

3. The range of hands I would take all in at that point. Okay I've got the short stack at 26,000. However we are playing 400/800 3 handed. Each orbit I'm only risking 1200. I had over 20 rounds left in me so I had plenty of room to play around with. It wasn't like I was going to put in a desperation all in on A3 suited or anything just yet. So since I've got room to manueuver with think about which hands I want to play. Why would I stick in with junk when I could wait on a monster. He had K-J. What hands would I stick in there could he beat? AA, KK and AK AJ all own him. A-Q, A-T, QQ, and JJ would give me about a 2:1 edge. TT to maybe 88 makes him at a race. I wouldn't check raise all in on Q-J or K-T the only 2 hands he probably could beat. At best he was in a race situation. His bet initally was good. If i had a terrible hand I would have mucked. However since I had gone over the top, he had to know what I held had K-J beat.
Here's how the sad story ended.
